Every Thursday from 1-2PM EDT, we host a webinar for our current and prospective clients, letting you know about new features, tips and shortcuts, and tricks of the trade. Our roundtable discussions are a lively forum where you can find answers to all your questions from not only SmarterSelect staff, but also other administrators who can share their experience and knowledge. To sign up, simply email us or reply to one of our weekly announcement emails. As with all of SmarterSelect's customer support, the webinars are completely free of charge. We look forward to seeing you there! Links: 3. mailto:email@example.com?subject=Webinar%20Signup Hey... where did the page settings go? You may have noticed that we've changed things up on the edit page and edit section pages. We've done away with the "Page Settings" and "Section Settings" buttons and replaced them with the small gear icon on the right hand side of the respective pages. If you want to make changes to the title or privacy settings of a page or section, just click the gear. We've added one more bit of functionality, which you can also access from the settings page. This takes us to our next item: Our newest feature: Hide from Evaluator! Until now, when you've had sensitive information that you needed from the applicants but didn't want to share with the evaluators (social security numbers, contact information, income details, or even details that could identify the applicant), you had to manually change the settings for these questions from "Applicant" to "Provider" after the application process was over (but before Evaluations began). We've found a way to simplify this process for you: our new Hide from Evaluator setting! When you're creating areas on your application that you don't want the evaluators to see (but still need the applicants to answer), you can select "Hide from Evaluator" at the question, section, or page level. This will make the item viewable to only applicants and providers-- evaluators will never even know that the hidden part of the application exists! Tales from the Field We love getting feedback from our clients! It lets us know how we're doing and how the process is working for everyone. Here's a story that we received recently that we wanted to share: A story for your amusement: Two years ago – our Scholarship Selection Committee was all upset and big-time fussy over having to learn how to review scholarships online w/SmarterSelect. They fretted, they fumed, one cursed (!) they all called me multiple times – a couple ended up printing out all the Apps anyway, etc. etc. etc. This year, even with two new members on the committee, things went really smoothly – and we finished our ‘Big Meeting’ in record time. Our seven Medical/Nursing scholarships are selected at a later date and are not yet ‘active’ online. [They will be for next year!!!] So we’re still using paper Apps for that selection round. This time, they all came into the Med/Nursing selection meeting complaining about all the hard-copy Apps – and saying how much easier it was to read and rank the scholarships ONLINE!!! Thought you’d appreciate this – you could share the story with others who are having a ‘challenge’ with their committees!
