Broadcast: Incomplete Apps
You can cut down on the number of incomplete applications for your programs with our new broadcast reminder-- simply select the applicants you wish to notify, click the "Broadcasts" button at the bottom of the applicants table, and choose "Incomplete Application". This will send a message to the applicants reminding them to finish their app, along with a direct link that will take them to the application in question!
This email broadcast reminder is especially useful for applicants because it outlines exactly what they're missing from their application: in their email, they will see a list of the pages on their app where they are missing required questions. This not only lets them know that they have apps outstanding, but it tells them exactly what they're missing, so that they can collect the information they need and come back to the application to finish. Only pages with required questions will show up, so make sure to mark essential items as required!
'Not Started' Apps
Those of you using SmarterSelect's matching feature or creating SmartApps will already be familiar with the "Not Started" applicant status. With matching, this status lets you know that the applicant has saved one of your programs to their "My Applications" list but has not started it yet. With SmartApp, this means that the applicant has been invited to apply for your program but has not yet begun. Because the application process hasn't begun yet for these applicants, they can easily forget that they've "bookmarked" this program with the intent of applying, which means that you may be missing out on qualified applicants.
Our new "Not Started" broadcast reminder sends a message to applicants with this status, reminding them that they have outstanding applications to begin. The message will also remind them of the deadline for submitting all materials, and the applicant will also get a link that they can click to return directly to their "My Applications" table and get started.
