The following is a list of features that we've added to SmarterSelect with the latest release:
Revamped Recommender/Information Request
We think you'll like the significant changes to the Recommender/Information Request page. It's now much more user-friendly, and it's geared towards simplifying the process for both providers and applicants and giving you a lot more control over your preferences where these forms are concerned.
-You can now make it mandatory that applicants enter all the contact information (e.g. Contact First Name, Contact Last Name, etc.) for their recommendations/information requests. This way, you can ensure that applicants submit their recommenders email address or any other information that you might need.
-You can now choose to require all the recommendations be submitted before the applicant can submit their application. In the past, many applicants would fill out their information, send off the recommendation/info request(s), and forget about the application, only to be surprised later when the recommendation never came in, causing their application to go unconsidered. Now you can help the applicants take responsibility for their recommendation/info requests by preventing them from submitting the application until all the other files have been received. This will require that the applicants be on top of their application until it is truly ready for your organization to review.
-If a recommendation/info request is marked as unsent, you will have the ability to manually send out the recommendation/info request.
-There is now a direct link for each information request, so you can now copy and give the link to any recommenders who have not received or have misplaced their instructional email.
-We’ve added Print Request buttons, so that the recommender can print their recommendation or request information before they submit it.
Added fields for provider name & contact information
-When we send out automated emails to your applicants, whether notifying them of a successfully application submission or an information request, the name and email of your designated contact person will display in the “Reply-to” field. This will make it easier for your applicants to ask you any questions that they may have that are related to your program.
-We have added fields under “Provider Settings” for your physical address, contact name, and contact email address. Please update these fields as soon as possible, as all emails that you send out via the SmarterSelect system will need to have this information in order to be in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. In addition, we’ve added your logo to all automated emails for improved recognition and visibility.
Added timestamps for Application Created and Submitted
-We’ve added a timestamps for when an Application is Created and when an Application is successfully Submitted. These timestamps can be seen when you view an individual application and they are in the Applicants table and the export files.
Added military mailing codes
For the State/Province question, we've added military mailing codes so that you, your applicants, and their recommenders/info request providers can all select AA (Armed Forces Americas), AE (Armed Forces Europe/Canada/Middle East/Africa), or AP (Armed Forces Pacific) in any fields that ask you to define your state.
